| COG3980 | SpsG | 2.59e-40 | 1 | 305 | 1 | 317 | Spore coat polysaccharide biosynthesis protein SpsG, predicted glycosyltransferase [Cell wall/membrane/envelope biogenesis]. |
| TIGR03590 | PseG | 1.00e-29 | 3 | 250 | 2 | 278 | UDP-2,4-diacetamido-2,4,6-trideoxy-beta-L-altropyranose hydrolase. This protein is found in association with enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of pseudaminic acid, a component of polysaccharide in certain Pseudomonas strains as well as a modification of flagellin in Campylobacter and Hellicobacter. The role of this protein is unclear, although it may participate in N-acetylation in conjunction with, or in the absence of PseH (TIGR03585) as it often scores above the trusted cutoff to pfam00583 representing a family of acetyltransferases. |
| pfam13302 | Acetyltransf_3 | 3.60e-10 | 318 | 448 | 3 | 139 | Acetyltransferase (GNAT) domain. This domain catalyzes N-acetyltransferase reactions. |
| cd03785 | GT28_MurG | 6.86e-09 | 130 | 287 | 160 | 330 | undecaprenyldiphospho-muramoylpentapeptide beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase. MurG (EC 2.4.1.227) is an N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase, the last enzyme involved in the intracellular phase of peptidoglycan biosynthesis. It transfers N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GlcNAc) from UDP-GlcNAc to the C4 hydroxyl of a lipid-linked N-acetylmuramoyl pentapeptide (NAM). The resulting disaccharide is then transported across the cell membrane, where it is polymerized into NAG-NAM cell-wall repeat structure. MurG belongs to the GT-B structural superfamily of glycoslytransferases, which have characteristic N- and C-terminal domains, each containing a typical Rossmann fold. The two domains have high structural homology despite minimal sequence homology. The large cleft that separates the two domains includes the catalytic center and permits a high degree of flexibility. |
| pfam00583 | Acetyltransf_1 | 1.92e-07 | 358 | 447 | 24 | 116 | Acetyltransferase (GNAT) family. This family contains proteins with N-acetyltransferase functions such as Elp3-related proteins. |
